Nancy has added quite a few items to her Etsy shop, the Phenomenal Women Shop, since the last time I visited her. She had over 800 as of this writing. Her focus is on simple pouches and cases designed to help you protect and organize your valuables. The shop is filled with eyeglass cases, coin purses, key fobs, baby quilts, and waterproof bags in a wide variety of styles. You’re sure to find what you need.
Nancy makes it all in a smoke-free studio. Her fabric of choice is 100% cotton. This lends itself to the practical bent of many of her creations. Consider her key chain wristlets. They are large enough to go over even a large hand to hold your keys while out jogging, and won’t get lost in the bottom of your purse. All with a fashionable flair. She designs her creations herself. The pinwheel fold over clutch pictured here is an example. She chose an elastic closure to give the clutch more flexibility as it is filled.
Much of her work has a homey feel to it, whether it’s a nod to traditional quilting techniques or a geometric pattern in her fabric choice. Other bags are made from Celtic patterned fabric, or something sleekly elegant. Her items are ready to ship now. The perfect pouch could be waiting for you. The treasury went together fairly quickly this time. I simply went through the Treasured Treasuries thread until I found all the honest players who had also commented on the July Super Hearts Treasury. I ended up with one slot left. Just when I thought I’d have to start digging through the Post 1 Favor the 50 Above thread, I got a recommendation from Sandra, our fearless leader. It seems that while I was gone, Nancy of Phenomenal Women Shop has been making a ton of team treasuries. Thank you Nancy. I’m particularly glad to give her the first slot because I’ve seen her playing in the other treasury games many times and know she is someone I can rely on. In fact, knowing that her store could use a little boost and that she herself has often supported others, I’ve decided to make her this month’s featured shop. I have a couple of others from this and previous treasuries who I think would be good featured shops for next month. I can never make up my mind which is more deserving. So I’m going to set up a pole and let our team members decide. I’ll let you know more about that later. Now to the nitty gritty of the rest of the treasury. All the top slots went to people who did more. Either they played fair many times in the Treasured Treasuries thread, or they went above and beyond. Sharon Lee of Garboge Knits ended up in the middle because I’ve featured her so many times. She ends up on the bottom just because I keep putting her in. No fault of hers. She’s always been very fair and a regular player. The more I see of her, the more impressed I am. The rest started off alphabetical, then got moved around to suit my sense of aesthetics. There were a couple of people that I really wanted to include this time that I passed over because of niggling little details. For instance, one person consistently only commented on four of the five treasuries ahead of him. I’m not such a stickler that there is no room for mistakes. If someone comments on and supports four of the treasuries ahead of theirs, I will check them again in another part of the thread to see if they got everyone. If so, I’ll include them. But not if it looks like a bad habit.

Kate has launched her own Etsy store; The Little Paper Wing. In celebration, she is giving away this great pair of origami butterfly earrings. She has an extensive selection of origami earrings ranging from butterflies to bows. Most of them are as cute as the name of her shop. These are all lacquered for strength and durability. She says not to push it because, “They’re just little paper butterflies, after all,” but they are just as strong as an earring gets and a lot lighter than most.
Most of her earrings have silver plate ear wires. She is quite willing to change them out for what ever kind of ear wire or clip on you need.
Her shop also includes book marks and beadwork bugs. Each bug has a name. You can choose between Bertha The Beadwork Beetle who does not like having her six legs bent and Jenkins the local neighborhood beadwork spider.
