BelladonnasJoy

I’ve been thinking for a while that I would like to use this blog to feature some other Etsy shops as well as my own items. I could never decide who to feature first. Today I am so moved by the support that BelladonnasJoy has given to the April Super Hearts Treasury, that I want to do something special. What better place to start?BelladonnasJoy1

BelladonnasJoy carries a large selection of earrings, necklaces, and bracelets that range from the earthy to the ethereal. All you woodland sprites will love what she has in store.

For instance, check out the gorgeous bracelet which can be purchased in this listing. You can also click on the photo to the left to see it in more detail. The flower is 33mm in diameter. What beautiful shades of blue! This is certainly something that won’t disappear under the sleeve of your blouse.

Or if blue isn’t your color, she has a great teal green lampwork bracelet that can be converted into a necklace.

Her shop is filled with delicate little earrings featuring pearl and brass filigree like the one to the right.

I picked these because I like the exotic, royal impression I get from them, but BelladonnasJoy carries them in delicate shades of yellow, white, peach, and aqua.

She also has a fun octopus necklace that I like, and a really cute set of pumpkin earrings, bracelet, and necklace that I would be featuring if we were closer to Halloween.

We’re talking real pearls, real lampwork, and real top quality workmanship. Definitely stop by her shop when you get the chance. It’s worth your while.

How the April Super Hearts Treasury Was Made

This month was both very easy to put together, and a little conflicted. The conflict is that I didn’t find anyone from the Post 1 Favor 50 thread, nor did any of the other leaders recommend anyone for the treasury.

This is because it’s hard to match up those who are great participants with those who have commented in the previous treasury. I kept my eye on it the whole month, but With so many hearts going out, finding a particular thread in someone’s favorites can be a very tall order.

I’m giving up on the hemp necklace at the beginning of the Post 1 Favor 50 thread as a marker because it gets way too much activity that doesn’t trace back to the current treasury, even though I do nothing to promote it.

Still, I want the treasury to be a support for the whole team, not just the threads I set up within the APCTeam. I’m working on a non-listing that might work the way the necklace originally did. That will have to be down the road. For the May treasury, I will probably still be focused on the Treasured Treasury thread.

The Treasured Treasuries thread is finally really taking off. People seem to have a clearer understanding of how it works and are participating fully. I found so many people who qualified that I was actually able to rely on new faces more than ever. Yay! We only had one person from the February treasury end up in the March, though there were a few from previous treasuries. That is more in line with the way I’d like to do things.

Per usual, immediate repeats go to the bottom row. The top row is mostly people who were very active in the Treasured Treasuries thread. They proved themselves several times over.

There is one person I want to give special attention to. That is. Trang Dai Technically, I’m not supposed to haveTrang included her because she didn’t comment on the five treasuries ahead of her. She did, however, favor them all. She did this without promoting a treasury of her own. I do say at the beginning of the thread that you don’t have to post anything to participate. You just have to support the five treasuries that came before you. I was so thrilled to see someone take me up on it that I couldn’t resist. However, in the future I won’t count people who don’t also comment on each of the five treasuries before them.

As to those who have thanked me with hearts and treasury inclusions, please don’t get mad when I simply return the favor. It’s just the way I roll. You’re in the Super Hearts Treasury because you are a good team member. That’s all there is to it.

How March’s Super Hearts Was Made

Of the 16 slots available in the March Super Hearts Treasury, a whopping thirteen of them came from the Treasured Treasuries thread. I’ll admit to some laziness, here, as it’s easier to verify the activity in that thread and much easier to get people to comment on the previous month’s Super Hearts, but I kept an eye out for activity in the Post 1 Favor 50 thread all month long. Even then, I ended up recruiting one of them.

Except for a couple of the people in the top row, the placement this month was entirely random. I suspect some of the people included didn’t even know what the Super Hearts is all about. Support February was hit and miss.

The contest that I tried out as a way to support the treasury was a total bust. The advertiser I hired put me off for over a week, then simply cancelled the order out of the blue, leaving me to scramble for ways to draw attention to the contest. I ended up with very few entries, and had to hand over the shawl for little return. However, the winner is a pip. I’m glad she won.

I have asked the APC Team captain and one of the leaders to make suggestions for shops to include in future treasuries. So far, no one has done so. If they do, I won’t stop to verify. Recommended people will automatically go into the next available treasury. If the recommendation is glowing, they get top row.

Also, Christy has agreed to do the August and September treasuries as I will not be able to give it my all then.

To those who were included, congratulations!

After each Super Hearts Treasury is launched, I will put up a detailed post about how those in it were selected and placed.  To find them, select “Treasuries” from my category menu.

How the February Super Hearts Treasury Was Made

Up until now the treasuries have been coming out about two weeks into the month.  I skipped January in the hopes of rectifying this and gave myself a February 1st due date.  From the middle of December until the end of January I worked hard keeping an eye out for people playing the Post 1 Item, Favor the 50 Above thread who wanted to be included in the next treasury.  By January 30th I had three who qualified.

I thought it would still be all right.  I hadn’t checked in on the Treasured Treasuries thread in a while.  I had high hopes.  That one did much better, netting me six more.  Still, not enough.

I asked APC Team’s captain, Sandra, if she wanted to elect anyone.  No reply.  I thought about bugging our new leader, but there wasn’t enough time and I haven’t even introduced myself yet.

I ran the December Super Hearts Treasury through Treasured Treasuries again and begged the people doing the Make 1 Be In 16 treasury game to run their treasuries through it, and netted a couple more.  Still no enough.

Can we say ‘panic’ yet?  February 1st came and went and still I didn’t have enough participants.

I had a similar problem in December, though not as pronounced.  To solve it, I filled the one last slot by bending the arm of a friend.  This time I expanded on that precedent.

I have known for some time now that a lot of the best participants in the APC Team never bother to comment on the Super Hearts Treasury, and thereby are not eligible.  It has always pained me to see such people go unrewarded.

So I went hunting.  I started from one of my own posts in the Post 1 Item, Favor the 50 Above thread and I tested every single participant who came after me.  Those who passed the test I sent a convo asking them to comment on the December treasury.  Those who commented went into the February treasury.  Within a day I had the treasury filled.

I think that clearly means that the Super Hearts Treasury is one of the best kept secret benefits of the APC Team.

Now, on to the order.  I’d like to assure Bret that he is only on the bottom row because he was also in the December treasury.  Crystal is in the top row despite having appeared in previous Super Hearts treasuries because she made the most effort to support the December treasury of anyone who was not actually in it.

Those I hunted down went to the bottom of the list except for a couple of people who went beyond the call of duty by favoring MORE than the requisite 50.  I want to encourage people to comment on the treasury without my prodding, but had to favor their enthusiasm.

One person on the bottom row had actually overlooked a couple of the treasuries in the Treasured Treasury thread that she was supposed to support, but rectified the oversight before I put her in the treasury.  She would not have been given the chance had she not been a good participant in the Post 1 Item, Favor the 50 Above thread.  See, I’m not that hard nosed.

The diversity of shops made it a little challenging to give the treasury some aesthetic appeal, but I think I did a good enough job.  If you haven’t seen it yet, please go visit the treasury now.

If you feel you should have been included, let me know!  I’m not infallible.  It is particularly hard to keep up with the Post 1 Item, Favor the 50 Above thread.  If I agree that you should have been in the February treasury I will automatically include you in the March treasury.

February Super Hearts Treasury!

Check it out!  The February Super Hearts is out.  Details on how it was made will be posted here tomorrow.
